ISIL's Defence Chief ''Omar al-Shishani'' Killed in US air strike.

Omar al- Shishani who was killed in a US air strike in Iraq was considered by the US to be ISIL's defence chief.  ISIL's website claimed Omar al- Shishani was killed in an airstrike in the town of Sharqat while taking part in repelling the military offensive in Mosul. Taking out strategic commanders/ leaders has been the US tactic in disorganizing the group.   Abu Omar al- Shishani whose original name is ''Tarkhan Tayumurazovich Batirashvili'' was a Georgian jihadist, he served as an ISIL commander and was also a sergeant in the Georgian army.Shishani was born  11 February 1986. 


  Shishani was a veteran of the 2008 Russo-Georgian war. Shishani became a jihadist after being discharged from the Georgian military on medical grounds. He  distinguished himself as master of various weapons and maps, according to his former commander Malkhaz Topuria, who recruited him into a special reconnaissance group.He was trained by US special forces, and he rose to the rank of sergeant in a newly formed intelligence unit,  he served near the front line in the Battle for tskhinvali spying on Russian tank columns and marking out their coordinates to Georgian artillery units. Shishani's unit inflicted serious damage on the Russians, and among the actions they participated in was an attack on a column of the Russian 58th Army during which the commander of the 58th Army, General Anatoly Khrulyov , was wounded.
